Nick, I think at this point in times it's just best if you just shut down Canadian Roll, you seem so angry all the sudden.

Listen dude, the fact of the matter is before you decided it would be a good idea and get angry at the whole roller blading community your site was good, updated a lot maybe not with all the content but for what it was it was good.
Now you've got some personal vendetta against everyone in the community, Dave threw a wicked comp and it was fun, sorry people didn't skate to your standards but in retrospect who the f**k are you to judge anyone?
You're posting this for attention, you've got it, positive or negative you don't care you just fiend it. It's a rule your parents should've taught you when you were a kid, if you don't have anything nice to say, then keep it to yourself. You need to stop wasting everyones time all your posts are total bullnuts now and you've personally made this community a little worse, if you hate the way people rollerblade so much then stop going to competitions and or just stop running Canadian roll.

keep it coming, okay. I post angry or negative reviews about just about everything i can... when i find the time to in my TERRIBLY busy schedule. i run a website but all i really do is repost links from rollernews.com and the bladr message boards (sometimes, most of the the time i ignore the homegrown edits) and expect adoration and praise. i realized i've received neither in the last 6 months so i stopped posting anything whatsoever. now i'm back and i'm angry at the toronto rollerblading scene.
:editing posts like nick does:

That's more like it guys. See now your using your full potential, but maybe you should utalize that potential to read more carefully next time. Oh and I never linked to rollernews, or ever used the Bladr board (but your powers of deduction are astounding). And none of my reviews have ever been fully negative, I pointed out the good points on the Carbon as well. Oh and I also praised Dave for throwing a really good comp (I even mentioned it was a "fantastic day of skating")...you would know that if you bothered to read all the way through.

Lol, This is amazing how when all of a sudden people see something they dont like they have something to say, but they never hold praise when everything is going well. This is a perspective from a person who has views on competitions in general, as he stated in his post. And when everything was updated on a daily basis taking hours out of his own personal time with no gain, hardly anybody was there to help, very few people sent in edits for him to post up, very few people sent him pictures for him to post up, and he even held a competition where everybody walked away with prizes and yet very few people attended. He did not post angry reviews, he posted honest reviews, and he seems to be one of the few people actually doing so. If you dont like a review or a point of view then walk away from it or click it off of your screen and move on. The difference with the site now is that the information is no longer suger coated and everything held high simply because its rollerblading. I personally had a great time at the brampton comp, i skated like nuts but i still enjoyed skating with everybody and thought it was a great event. Every event no matter how great has some flaws, and the objective is to make it better which has been happening, as evident in the turnout growing bigger and bigger every year. Its amazing reading the hate from these 2 guys who dont even know him.

Why is it that as soon as someone has a different opinion they immediately are "seeking attention?" Why are people so afraid of change and someone elses viewpoint? There is no reason that you should be upset with Nick opinions, no reason to be insecure with the rollerblading scene within Toronto or elsewhere.
Also, Nick is the creator of Canadian Roll and his main focus was streamlining the rollerblading world into one single source, and he succeeded in doing so. He also used that medium as a way to express not only the Hamilton and Canadian scene, but also his own views. Whenever he posted something positive about a product or competition or skater, they got amazing feedback. As soon as he had any negative thing to say about anything people started blasting him, why? It's his own opinion, he's not asking you to agree or to like it. Also keep in mind that there are two other people who fully stand behind Nick and help make Canadian Roll what it is. Yes, we have all been slacking lately and we have our reasons. I'm not here to defend Nick, he doesn't need my help. I'm merely here to understand why people are afraid of someones opinion against something when it's not the same opinion that you have.
Instead of bashing Nick's opinions, why not give feedback as to why you disagree. This way we can all gain information to base our own decisions from.

You're missing the big picture, he's objectifying us to his opinions, the fact of the matter is this, no one asked him to run Canadian Roll, it was his own doing, thousands of business's fail all the time. Sometimes it just doesn't work out, you just shut it down.

dont like it, dont read it. You have a choice to click the link. I like honest reviews, rather then spending 500$ on a pair of skates to find out myself.

Sometimes it just doesn't work out, you just shut it down. Why should I shut it down, I am having more fun than ever! Also, by using "objectifying" incorrectly in your sentence you actually gave me the power to shape your reality (you know, make my "abstract" concepts a concrete fact in your reality. Or maybe you don't know because you totally butchered its meaning). If you really want that it's cool with me!
